Classics Collection: Easy as ABC

Hi folks,
I am hoping to host another Beginners Contest soon, covering five more classic puzzle styles. That said, here is the next set of our puzzle series: Easy as ABC. This puzzle type goes back as far as I can remember, and it is as basic a logical puzzle style as I can think of.

Composite Puzzles: City of Circles

Hi folks,
the following is a new creation of mine in the context of Composite Puzzles. Unlike the previous installments of this series, it constitutes a single large puzzle which consists of several smaller components. I encountered the concept – an assortment of smaller puzzles embedded in a larger grid – many years ago. Constructions like this one have appeared frequently in puzzle events, in particular WPC team rounds; the details of how the individual puzzles are pieced together have varied, of course.

More solving experiences

This is another short review of puzzle events I have participated in. There were three, to be precise, and they all took place two weeks ago: the second round of the Puzzle Grand Prix 2021, a Skyscrapers contest hosted by the UK Puzzle Association, and the online qualifier for the German Puzzle Championship. I was fortunate on several occasions and ended up better than I anticipated in all three of them – it seems I can still live up to my potential every now and then. Before I go on, many thanks to the authors and organizers.
